Women@Work Network LLC

Women@Work represents a very wide range of talent-current and returning professional women who have expertise in just about everything from Advertising to Zoology.

One particular strength of the women in our network is marketing-an area of expertise that is critical for every kind of company both large and small.

Routine day-to-day activities often push marketing to the bottom of company "To Do" lists.  Without a solid marketing plan and ongoing implementation, however, you are likely to fall short of your near and long-term goals.

Take a look below at the tremendous marketing talent that is available to you on a full-time, part-time, or consulting or temporary basis.  And remember that these profiles provide just a glimpse of the more than 4,000 mid to senior-level candidates we can connect you to nationwide. Women@Work candidates of this caliber are also available in many other disciplines to meet your many staffing needs.

High Performing Sales Leader

Every business needs to sell more of a product or service, and finding tenacious, enthusiastic, polished door-openers who can truly close sale after sale can be like finding a needle in a haystack.  If your staff is short on sales, consider this high performing sales leader with year over year success selling enterprise solutions for a range of technology businesses.
She doesn’t just say that she can sell:  she has a proven track record, both as a sole contributor and manager, closing deals from $2 Million to $250 Million, driving double-digit advancements, generating profitable sales growth, turning around underperforming units and accelerating change.  Her accomplishments shine in the neon light category:  at IBM, as just one of many examples, she turned around an underperforming region, attaining 225% of annual revenue targets in first 12 months in assignment, producing $124 million in revenue. Spearheaded $21 million to AT&T, biggest sale in the division’s history.
This woman is recognized as a consensus builder who produces exceptional outcomes while motivating teams and creating enduring customer relationships.   Her core competencies include opening business relationships, strategic & tactical market development, process redesign & optimization, sales plan development and forecasts, closing large and strategic solution sales, and cross selling & channel management.
Versatility is her middle name:  she can work her sales magic on industry giants (like IBM, where she fast tracked through six high level sales assignments in nine years) or much smaller non-profits.

High-Level Consultant:  Direct and Online Marketer for B2C and B2B

There are many top-notch consultants who only want to work in their local area, and a much smaller pool of talent willing to work on a more national or global scale.  This highly regarded Northeast based consultant is willing to travel throughout North America or Europe—wherever a project may lead.
A long-term consulting engagement, for example, brought her Edmonton, Canada. She spent one week a month at this client's office and managed the balance of her responsibilities from a home office in Connecticut.
This woman’s expertise is in demand:  a combination of direct and online marketing for both B2C and B2B. Since she established her consulting practice in 2000, her work has been predominantly in the high-tech, publishing and financial services industries.
A long list of impressive consulting assignments fills her resume:  a 3-month market study project with Intuit QuickBooks to determine viability of potential white space in B2B financial services market; a 9-month project with Intuit Canada to revamp all direct marketing for stronger, hard-hitting offers and creative strategy; a 12-month relationship with a small, privately held consumer product catalog business to provide all direct marketing planning and analysis, program strategy and creative development; and a 9-month project with Responsys.com acting as their internal marketing consultant for existing and new clients, including BMW, Walgreen’s and Hyperion Solutions.  This is just a start—her list of consulting assignments goes on with clients such as Weekly Reader, Netezza, Pitney Bowes and IBM.
Some professionals adopt the title of “Consultant” without firm grounding in their area of expertise.  This woman truly is in a position to guide companies both large and small.  Before launching her consulting business, she was Director, Direct Marketing at Synapse, where she had P&L management of an $80MM direct mail division for continuous service magazines, phone cards and
merchandise. There her financial, retail and airline clients included American Express, Citibank, AT&T Universal, MBNA and Spiegel.  And she got results:  she increased mail volume from 7MM to 30MM annually while maintaining a 20%+ profit margin.
Depending on the level of the work and the length of the project, this candidate’s consulting rate is generally $1,500 per day--and she is ready to dive in to your most important marketing initiatives.

Financial Services Marketing Director

When you think of a “temp” do you visualize a lower level administrator who fits into a narrow profile of answering phones or filing papers?  If so, it’s time for you to meet Women@Work’s “Talent to Go” Associates—a pool of mid to senior-level women who are available on a temporary basis.   Some women have opted out of demanding careers for a period of time and some are simply between positions.  They are not “career temps” and their resumes are filled with top notch skills and experience.  With egos aside, they simply want straightforward work in an interesting environment.  Our Talent Associates (on the Women@Work payroll) go far beyond the typical temp—which is the case with this Candidate of the Week who is looking for a part-time position in banking or investment management.
Most recently this woman was a marketing director who distributed early stage private equity and mezzanine financings, focusing primarily on investments in new media companies.  She developed and managed relationships with institutional investors, including private equity and mezzanine funds, insurance companies, banks and finance companies.  And, more to the point, she successfully placed $70 million of growth or buyout capital for four issuers.  Earlier in her career, as Vice President of Equity-Linked Private Placements at Bank of America, she distributed over $150 million of equity-linked private financings, including senior and subordinated debt, preferred stock, and common stock.
Think she could lend an able hand to a busy investment team?  Absolutely.  Don’t get caught in the “full time or nothing” trap—the most smart and savvy managers have a flexible view of resource allocation.

Advertising Account Management Pro

Women@Work was created to help returning professional women reenter the work force (now just one of our candidate profiles), and in our experience many are ready to hit the ground running.  Employers often feel that women who have been out of the work force are not up to speed with current industry practice—which is definitely not the case with this candidate.  A very well regarded NYC advertising firm just found her to be a very strong candidate who has not missed a beat in keeping up with new media trends.  The firm intends to offer her project work, but this woman would also like a more permanent part-time position.
The last position that this candidate held was Management Supervisor at Saatchi & Saatchi—capping off an 11-year career in the advertising industry.  During her tenure at Saatchi she developed and executed strategic, creative and media plans for blue chip consumer package goods brands from Johnson & Johnson/Merck, McNeil and Procter & Gamble.  She developed deep expertise in brand strategy and senior client management from her experience on category leading brands such as: Adult Tylenol, Mylanta and Tide.  Her last assignment was developing a strategic plan to defend Mylanta against the prescription to over-the-counter launch of H2 blockers, which allowed Mylanta to maintain its number one position in an extremely competitive category.
Like many of the returning professionals in our network, this woman is ready to dig back into her career.  Her strategic expertise and passion for results will make her an invaluable asset to any company.
