“Networking Coffees”
In the New York and Boston Metropolitan area, Women@Work hosts “NetWORKing 123” events that help members generate valuable job leads. You submit your resume in advance--and all resumes are distributed to attendees prior to the meeting via email. This gives you a chance to think about connections and synergies you have with other women--who might be able to help you and whom you might be able to help.
And these meetings do indeed prove that with a little advance “work” networking is “as easy as 123”! One member told us that after a recent NetWORKing 123 meeting she networked two women into Lord & Taylor, one networked her to an opening at the Ritz Carlton, she learned about and landed an interview with Prudential and she had a meeting with a woman who is putting together a consortium of product development consultants. All from just one hour of networking!
